Our Review
We really liked this hotel/resort. Not only is the
Wyndham Reach Key West really pretty, but it has its
own private little enclave that runs from shady hotel
patios to landscaped pool to dining area to white
sand beach to the sea.
The people working there struck us as real people
that are approachable and engaged (a very few hotel
employees on the front lines can understandably be
a bit jaded, but not here).
There is a good restaurant (the Sands Lounge) that
offers poolside service, there is some really interesting
artwork too. Check out the pictures of the guys playing
poker on the patio!
The Wyndham Reach Key West is at a good location
for Duval, situated on the "quiet" end and
one block over. Wyndham also participates in the 'hot
rates' program on this site, and you can get some
really good deals.
Something you should know: the Santa Maria hotel
next door has been demolished, and is being rebuilt
as condos. If you get a room that faces the island,
you will have construction noise so get one that faces
the ocean, whatever you do. Make sure that you stipulate
both 'away from construction' and 'oceanfront' when
making your reservations on this site.
While with a smaller hotel this would be enough to
keep you away altogether, don't let this stop you
from enjoying this great resort. It is big enough
to be its own noise block.
Again, a room on the ocean, get a 'hot rate' deal,
and you are set to tan!
As I mentioned in the Key West Primer, it is really
not a great idea to stay directly on Duval if you
actually expect to have a peaceful night's sleep.
Don't rent a car, just get a bike/scooter/electric
car and you will get around just fine. A taxi got
us to the far end of Duval for the sunset festival
for less than $4 a person, so save your car
rental money.
Who should stay here? Absolutely anybody, and this
includes you.

Went to key west for anniversary and decided to wait
and get a room once we were there to find one of the
better locations. Looked all over for one on the beach
and decided on the reach because it was the best at
the best price. Enjoyed it so much we even stayed
an extra night. .

Location was nice close to the action on Duval Street
yet far enough away for peace and quiet. Hotel was
in good shape overall. The exercise room was very
disappointing for a "resort". We did the romance package...
and thought it was an outstanding value. It appears
they acquired the property next door. I hope they
upgrade the "exercise" room and "spa" so that they
are not in a walled off area of the parking garage.
Overall, I would recommend this property and the Romance
Package.
