Our Review
The Santa Maria is dead.... long live the Santa Maria!
The hotel has been demolished and hauled off. It
is being rebuilt as a condominium. Yet it still appears
in the listings.
Until the listings update, here is your review...
The front entryway has been designated as a historic
landmark, and so has to remain as is.
The bottom two photos were taken with 6 foot 4 inch
me standing on my toes with my hands over my head
and the camera just barely above a pedestrian wall.
One practical reason to still include this listing
is for past guests (you may like the Wyndham Casa
Marina or the La Concha (link)
instead).
Another is to make travelers aware that the building
behind the Santa Maria in the photos below is the
Wyndham Reach (see review link).
If you are able to make reservations at the
Santa Maria... bring a tent!
Customer Review
This room was very clean, quite comfortable although
showing it's age. Within walking distance of places
you want to go and quiet. Use of all resort facilities
next door was awesome and worth the small extra cost.
Very good value. I stayed an extra day.
Customer Review
1st room had not been cleaned - bathroom and floor
dirty, bed unmade. 2nd room had been broken into before
and never fixed. Sliding glass door didn't lock. Front
door had a piece of broken glass strategically put
back in place, along with a fist sized hole cut out
of the metal grate, and hole in screen. The door could
easily be unlocked from outside. When we complained,
the front desk called the place a "dump." 3rd room
was one that someone just checked out of so it had
not been cleaned. Had they just changed the linens
in the first room, we would've been perfectly happy.
Customer Review
This hotel has seen many years of service. The rooms
were cleaner than some new hotels I have been in.
It is like you are staying at the Wyndham Hotel next
door because you have full use of all the facilities.
Would stay there again.
