Our Review
This hotel and the people in it are living proof that
just because you work for a large 'name' hotel that
you do not have to behave like corporate androids...
these people are fantastic!
We dropped by and had a great chat with Michael Drew,
the general manager, who welcomed us with a smile
and firm handshake. Even though we were not guests,
we felt welcome. He invited us up the spiral staircase
in the lobby to his office, and shared with us his
background, his thoughts on being a hotelier, and
how this philosophy affects the Quality Inn.
Early on we could tell that we all shared a fundamental
agreement on what defines hospitality... people. People
make a hotel great, it is the people that can make
a humble cottage a world-class accommodation or make
a world-class accommodation a one star dive. The Quality
Inn has both, really really nice property and people
with great attitudes.
Michael, and all of his staff talk the talk and walk
the walk. These are world-class people. Each one of
his employees are empowered to do whatever the guests
need, making each of them a de-facto concierge. You
can approach anyone with a request or question. Michael
likes to call this the 'friendliest hotel in the Keys',
and he may just be right. Check out the reviews, there
is not one bad comment about the staff.
Did we like this Quality Inn? Absolutely. The rooms
are great. It has one of the nicest pools in the front
part of the hotel, and for Key West, to say that the
pool area is nice is really saying something. If you
can, get an upper level room that faces the ocean
so that you will be above the traffic sounds, but
can sit on your balcony in the morning and watch small
sailboats zip by in the turquoise gulf waters as you
enjoy your morning coffee. Beyond the landscaping
and the palms there is Roosevelt Blvd., and then Ocean.
The Quality Inn Key West sits on the far end of Key
West from Duval, but this is no big deal as "far"
means about 3 miles. It is on the trolley and bus
line, as well as independent tour lines, and you will
have no trouble getting anywhere you want to go. Is
also a good choice if you are driving in as it is
near where Route 1 hits Key West.
Who should stay here? Absolutely anybody, and this
includes you. The Quality Inn is definitely recommended
(unlike a lot of other sites, we don't always say
nice things about absolutely everyone!) These are
good people who deserve the chance to earn your confidence.
Customer Review
This hotel was Very clean. The pool and hot tub were
great! The staff was Very nice and helpful in anything
we needed. Nice not to be right downtown in the middle
of everything all the time. If you want a nice beach
go to Taylor State Park.

We arrived at 11 AM and check in wasn't until 3 PM
but we were greeted with a smile! Very friendly staff!
Tiki Bar waitress was WONDERFUL. Great atmosphere!
Definitely would stay here again. A little distant
from main strip but quiet and great for travelers
with a car. One of the best hotels I've stayed at
for the money.
