Our Review
The Hilton Key West overlooks Mallory Square where
the daily sunset celebrations are held, is very close
by the party end of Duval Street but not so much that
the party intrudes. It is pricey, but it sits on a
primo spot of real estate, and has great views of
the sunset from the balconies and rooftop.
Some perspective for those that travel, this is the
top of the line resort for Key West, but is a fraction
of the cost of a similar resort on Hawaii. If you
stay lodgings at this price range, becoming a guest
of the Hilton Key West will be a treat.
Guests of the Hilton enjoy a specific and very nice
perk, they are granted limited access to a 27 acre
island that is owned solely by Hilton not far offshore.
The island, now called Sunset Key, is home to their
exclusive "Sunset Key Guest Cottages at Hilton
Key". Sunset Key is the most expensive and exclusive
place to stay in the area.
Other than Sunset Key, there is no outside privacy
on Key West, unless you stumble into one of the areas
frequented by the homeless. If you want to get away,
there is no other "away" to "get"!
This makes for a great balance.
The Hilton is within walking distance to everything.
It has its own small beach which guests can enjoy
for a nominal service fee of $10 per adult. This is
Key West, and expectations should be that there will
be small fees everywhere.
This is a good choice of lodgings if you want to
participate in watersports or water related activities.
It is highly recommended to visit the Marquesas or
Dry Tortugas, and glass bottomed boats offer convenient
reef tours.
You will also enjoy views of the docks, and you can
watch as the cruiseships pull in. These huge liners
are so big that the mind literally has a hard time
taking them in!
Customer Review
My husband and I recently returned from this hotel
and were quite disappointed in our experience. The
Key West weather was beautiful, as was our surroundings,
however after upgrading our room reservations to enjoy
a "private balcony", we were surprised to see a cruise
ship blocking our view every single day, and people
mingling outside our table area during the afternoon
sunset. The hotel was uncooperative in relocating
us to another room. Too many other nice places exist
in Key West to stay in. Do your homework!!
Customer Review
My wife and I have stayed here 3 times in the last
3 years, and we love it every time. Everything here
is first class such as the rooms, the service, and
the location. It' s our number 1 pick of hotels in
the Keys.
Customer Review
Great hotel, and location. A bit high in price. If
you have kids, hope for great weather- if the weather
is not good or if there is a small craft water advisory,
there are not very many things for kids to do beyond
2 days.
Customer Review
You are not going to believe how lush and comfortable
the hotel beds are here. Down pillows, comforter and
a fantastic mattress. We had a view of the cruise
ship that was in port from our balcony. Sunset was
fantastic. We have been to Key West many times but
this was our first time staying at the Hilton. Just
walk a block to Duval and shopping. We loved it!
