Our Review
The Heron House has the prettiest grounds on the islands,
not in the beautiful-lush-tropical way that the Duval
House is beautiful, but in the incredibly-artistic,
perfectly-planned, impeccably-maintained kind of pretty.
Someone really really loved this property and spared
no effort to make it a signature property.
From the heron mosaic in the pool bottom to the inlaid
marble and onyx heron in the lobby floor to the etched
glass heron front entryway, there are heron motifs
everywhere.
The actual grounds are not a single house, but a
series of houses seamlessly integrated into the grounds.
The grounds themselves are wonderful, with paths
that are so lush on either side that you can only
see 20 feet ahead of you. It is not that they are
not clear, they wind about with surprises to be discovered
hither and yon.
You cannot really see this property from the street.
It is surrounded by embracing stone walls all the
way around (a very nice idea for this island, not
for security so much as for noise control). Look for
a sign or two and a street address, and you are there.
The negative reviews at the time of writing are more
or less recent, and there have been some management
changes at that time. These negative reviews, while
undoubtedly legitimate, are very likely due to this
change.
Near Duval St. To miss the opportunity to stay at
this gem would be a shame.
Customer Review
Upon signing in, we were told to park in front, however
that was NOT the best as we were in the back and on
second floor. Being seniors, the desk man COULD have
told us to park in back under our room. Other than
that it was excellent. We found we were close enough
to walk to "southern most point" and Duval Street.
After dinner we enjoyed a wonderful swim in the full
size pool and turned in. AM breakfast had rolls, doughnuts,
fresh juice, coffee, cereal, etc. All in all for the
price, we found it to be exceptional value. Would
stay there again in a heartbeat.

We were upgraded to the junior suite and it was amazing!!Very
quiet and lovely. A great place to get away from it
all!!

We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing place and
the staff was wonderfully attentive but never obtrusive.

were great! We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Romantic!!
Customer Review
This is a very well run hotel with beautiful, lush,
grounds, quiet and discrete. Only negative was front
desk people were short and seemed bothered by guests
interrupting them from whatever they were doing behind
the front desk.
Customer Review
The location, the staff and the facilities were all
wonderful.
Customer Review - Negative
When I called the hotel to confirm the reservation,
they told me that they were not able to accommodate
us for the fourth night, and that we would have to
move to another hotel. After two days of trying to
get this settled, the hotel paid for us to stay at
another hotel on Key West. My recommendation - don't
bother with these people. They were nothing but rude
and unaccommodating, and would not cooperate to solve
the problem they had created.

I reserved the Honeymoon balcony suite for my 10th
wedding anniversary. When I arrived I was told that
they had moved us to another room I assume to make
room for a VIP couple. We were told that we would
be comped 1 nights stay on our next visit. Needless
to say, they refused to honor this when I called back
later. The "Manager" was never available and never
returned my calls. I was treated rudely and given
the runaround.
