Our Review
This is one of two Courtyard by Marriotts on Key West,
and is the superior of the two. There is a great deal
of brand loyalty with the Courtyards, and this is
the one to stay with.
While the other Courtyard lodging is called
'Marriott Courtyard on the gulf', this is largely
deceptive as it is 'on the gulf' behind a seawall,
heavily trafficked road, sidewalk, border plantings,
and parking lot.
This Marriott Courtyard has its own small,
private beach, and it too is on the gulf. This is
"the Marriott for the down-to-earth".
We had a pleasurable conversation with the concierge
on duty, Bill. Bill is a wealth of island knowledge,
and not only knows what activities to do but who to
do it with. He is the kind of guy who knows everyone.
Bill is independent of the Courtyard, which is an
advantage. As a concierge, he is free to make recommendations
across the board, and not to strictly send guests
to hotel-approved activity providers. These providers
often get "approved" simply by paying for
it, being related to the right people, or by being
oldest.
You go to a concierge to get an educated, freely-given
reference. This is exactly what you get with Bill.
Due to its location on North Roosevelt, there is
no back street to get here. Do not, under any circumstances,
rent an electric vehicle if you are going to stay
here, you cannot use it to get to and from the hotel.
Rent a car.
The Courtyard Key West Waterfront sits right on the
restricted access road to Sigsbee Park Navy Housing
area on Dredgers Key. If you are military and looking
for a place to send friends or relatives, this is
the closest and best. The family suites come with
microwaves, refrigerators, and queen sleeper sofas.
Rooms offer high-speed internet access, there is
a coin-operated laundry facility, Tiki bar, on site
restaurant "The Courtyard Cafe". Nearby
there is an Outback Steak House, Waffle House, Chile's,
TGI Friday's and Meson de Pepe (highly recommended,
excellent locally owned Cuban cuisine).
The private beach, like all resort beaches on Key
West, is not big. The operating thought here is not
"beach", but "private". There
are golfing facilities nearby on Stock Island.
Who should stay here? Meetings, groups, weddings,
families, military.

I'm glad I didn't rely upon the other reviews. This
hotel is wonderful! Beautiful courtyard, pool and
terrific staff. Your Boardwalk behind the hotel is
beautiful! Thanks for everything.

We stayed for several nights at this hotel and enjoyed
the pool and tropical views. The room was outdated
and needed refurbishing. Convenient location but still
need a car or cab to get to Old Town.
Customer Review
I was hoping for a great time in key west. We arrived
and our room wasn't ready till 5. As we made our way
to the room, the garden and floral was OVER abundant,
very pretty. We made our way to the BACK of the hotel.
No towels at all in the room. Tried to find housekeeping.
NONE knew any English and try to explain a towel to
them. I figured everyone knew what a towel was.
