The Coconut Mallory Resort and Marina is really pretty, has direct water and boating access as the 'Marina' in the name implies, and is on the north end. Unlike its hotel counterparts, it has been tucked back out of the noise and traffic into its own peaceful little strip of heaven.

I was really struck by how clean the Coconut Mallory is. There was not even a stray leaf to be found on the parking lot!

The units themselves are 2br 2bath in either townhome or flat configurations. There is plenty of parking, a waterside bar, a clubhouse and commons area.

If you have never rented a condo, it is like staying in someone else's furnished apartment for a week. It is that simple. Just bring your own clothes and food. All the comforts of home.

Each suite has a private balcony with magnificent panoramic views, A/C, Cable TV and much more. Handicapped accessible condos are available.

The Coconut Mallory is near the airport, but is definitely not "located in the heart of old Key West" as their brochure indicates, they are about as far from the historic downtown as you can be and not get wet.

Renting a condo for a week is a great idea if you are traveling with a family, especially if it includes a toddler or an infant. You will have greater control over family activities and it will be more like home.
